The Hornets earned their first win – 11-5 over Auburn Riverside – Oct. 5. Riverside kept the game close during the opening quarter, with a 2-all tie. Hornet goalkeeper Josh Musick gave EHS the lead on a shot from goal with 22 seconds left in the period.

The Enumclaw defense held the Ravens and went on a scoring attack. Bennon VanHoof finished with four goals; Travis Culp, Zach Petersen and Musick, two each; and Garrett Hall with one.

Enumclaw lost its second game of the season Thursday to the league-leading Wilson 8-5.

Scoring for the Hornets were VanHoof, three goals; and Hall and Zach Petersen with one each.

Friday night, the Hornets traveled to Covington to face Kentridge and picked up a 10-7 win to improve to 7-3 overall, 6-2 in league for second-place in the East Division.

The Hornets scored quickly with goals by Thomas Petersen and Culp, but Kentridge got on the board with two minutes left in the period. The Hornets kept scoring, adding two goals in the second quarter and five in the third and built a 9-3 lead into the final period. Kentridge played tough in the fourth quarter, scoring four for the 10-7 final.

VanHoof and Hall led EHS scorers with four goals each. Culp and Thomas Petersen each added one. Musick had 15 saves and five steals.
