Enumclaw High senior baseball players Andrew Olson and Beau Rogers will be continuing their baseball careers at Tacoma Community College next spring and Titan skipper Donegal Fergus could not be more pleased.

Olson, the affable, southpaw moundman, who has been the ace of the Hornet bullpen for the past three campaigns, earned first team all-South Puget Sound League 3A accolades in his senior outing and ended the season with an ERA hovering around 2.0.

Rogers is a center fielder whose reliable glove and mercurial speed were the catalyst that held together an unheralded Enumclaw outfield unit.

“Beau is a selfless player whose unique leadership style and athleticism helped vault the Hornets to the top of the standings this year,” Hornet mentor Eric Fiedler said. “I would say he was the best all-around outfielder in the entire SPSL 3A this season. He finished the season leading the league in stolen bases with 16 and incredibly, didn’t make a single error in the field all season long on the hundreds of fly balls that came his way.”

Fergus concurred wholeheartedly with Fiedler’s assessment.

“Andrew and Beau are two tremendous young men who are not only strong competitors on the baseball field, but quality kids off it,” he said. “We look for high character prospects as we recruit the entire Northwest, and this tandem who was right in our back yard, are just the type of players and people we want in our program. It’s a pleasure to call them Titans.”
