The Bonney Lake Panther boys lost two basketball games last week, including a close contest against Auburn Mountainview.

Bonney Lake fell 82-57 to Lakes High at home Friday. Lakes is tied for first in the South Puget Sound League 3A with Enumclaw, both with 11-1 records.

The Panthers lost to Auburn Moun-tainview 54-47 Jan. 27.

Bonney Lake will close the season with three games. The Panthers traveled to Franklin Pierce Tuesday – scores were not available at press time – will host White River at 7 p.m. Thursday and close the season 7 p.m. Feb. 12 at Sumner.

Although the Panthers have posted only one win in a nonleague game this season, the boys have continued to battle.

Among the future bright spots is freshman guard Lawrence Williams who scored 12 points to lead the team against Auburn Mountainview and had nine against Lakes.

Nathan Braun led the scoring against Lakes with 10 points.

In the Clover Park contest Bonney Lake stayed close all game, going into the first half down 25-20.

The Panthers outscored the Lions 12-11 in the third, but Auburn Mountainview took the 18-15 advantage in the fourth.

Braun scored 11 to lead the Panthers.
