With Stopshoppingdebbie 1,100 miles away at Santa Anita, the coast was clear for Goin to the Window in Sunday’s $21,000 allowance feature for fillies and mares.

And she delivered nicely, rallying for a 1 ¼-length victory over stable mate Blueberry Smoothie in what was the final career start for both Northwest Farms 4-year-old fillies.

Ridden by Juan Gutierrez, Goin to the Window ran one mile in 1:36.10 and paid $3.20 and $2.10.  It was welcome class relief for the daughter of Tapit, who had finished runner-up to Stopshoppingdebbie in her last three starts and six times overall.

Goin to the Window, the track’s champion 2-year-old filly of 2012, finished her racing career with a 3-6-2 mark in 12 starts with earnings of $128,983.

Blueberry Smoothie, ridden by Javier Matias, finished second and paid $2.40. A daughter of Giant’s Causeway, her career total is 3-3-7 in 13 starts with earnings of $123,792. Tabled With Gold and Stephanie Plum finished third and fourth, and Inquiry Miss was scratched earlier in the day.

Goin to the Window and Blueberry Smoothie will begin new careers as broodmares for owner Northwest Farms (Jerre Paxton) next year in Kentucky.

“They’re both very nice fillies, ’Window has a lot of talent,” trainer Tom Wenzel said. “I was happy to see her get a win, and Blueberry Smoothie always tries too.”

As for Stopshoppingdebbie, Wenzel said the 9-for-9 Curlin filly is adapting nicely to her new environs at Santa Anita, and will compete in the $100,000 LA Woman (G3) at 6 ½ furlongs on Saturday, October 4. Wenzel and Paxton also considered the Zenyatta Stakes, a Grade 1 at 1 1/16 miles for Stopshoppingdebbie, but decided on the shorter race and hope to use it as a springboard to the Breeders’ Cup.

NOTES: Poly Squat, who won the first race of the meet on April 12, joined He’s a Cruiser and Marvin’s Magic as the meet’s only five time winners with a $19.80 upset under Jose Zunino in race seven. A 5-year-old Washington-bred by Raise the Bluff, Poly Squat is 5-2-1 in 12 starts at the meet for trainer Chris Stenslie and owners Jody Peetz and Dr. Mike Konecny. . .Add Some Alcohol finished first in race five but was disqualified and placed second for interference in deep stretch. Uptownfreddybrown ($9.20) was moved up from second to first place. . .Kenzie Carolina ($6) became a four-time winner at the meet with a 4 ¼-length victory under David G. Lopez in Sunday’s third race. With the win, Lopez became the fifth jockey with 50 wins at the meet, and improved to 15-for-43 when riding for trainer Rigoberto Velasquez. . .Juan Gutierrez rode three winners and ranks sixth overall with 49 wins. The 45-year-old rider is bidding for a 13th straight top-five finish at Emerald Downs. . .Leslie Mawing and Rocco Bowen each rode a winner and Mawing has clinches his second EmD riding title with a 86-67 lead on Bowen atop the standings. . .On the trainers’ side, Frank Lucarelli scored a win with Judy Kay ($3.60) in Sunday’s opener and trails Jeff Metz 48-41 with three days left. . The final week of live racing begins Friday with first post 6:45 p.m. . . Santa Anita Park also begins its 25-day fall meet Friday at 1 p.m.
