Four athletes from Sumner High and a pair from Bonney Lake competed during the state gymnastics meet in the Tacoma Dome Exhibition Hall.

Four athletes from Sumner High and a pair from Bonney Lake competed during the state gymnastics meet in the Tacoma Dome Exhibition Hall.

While none made an impact in the individual standings in the four events, each gained the experience of competing against the state’s best.

The best finish was turned in by Bonney Lake’s Kelsey Wells-Henderson, who tied for 26th in the vault. She tied for 41st in the bars and 77th on the beam.

Teammate Kaisee Spencer finished 72nd on the beam.

On the Sumner side, Aja Ruswick was 47th in all-around competition. She was 58th on the beam, 62nd on bars, 51st in the floor exercise and 74th in the vault.

The Spartans’ Sierra Tinsley finished 33rd on the beam and 53rd on the bars.

Kimi Nakayama was 60th on bars and 67th in the floor exercise and Dayna Devereaux was 53rd on the bars, 66th in the vault and 79th in the floor exercise.
