Hornets looking for elusive win

It’s a slow week for the girls of the White River High soccer program, who played Tuesday evening at North Thurston and will not play again until Tuesday of next week when they host Timberline in nonleague action.

Results of the Hornets’ trip to North Thurston were not available for this issue, but will be posted on www.courierherald.com.

White River’s early-season record sat at 0-2-1, with the tie coming Thursday at Bonney Lake. The Panthers scored at 16 minutes and the Hornets received the equalizer a dozen minutes later when Ashley Powell registered an unassisted goal.

White River’s second loss of the season came Sept. 15 at Capital High. In the 3-2 defeat, the Hornets received goals from Chloe Sharp and Morgan Brown.
