Hornets win five out of five games

The weather finally cooperated long enough for the Enumclaw High girls to play five games in five days, all of which they won, pushing their league mark to 5-1.

The dream week began with the maroon and gold crushing Lakes 14-0 on the road April 7, then beating Franklin Pierce 5-1 April 8. The Hornets blanked Sumner 7-0 in a five-inning, rain-shortened affair Thursday, toppled White River 11-1 Friday and hosted Peninsula and cleansheeted the Seahawks 6-0 Saturday.

The Hornets had the opportunity to avenge their solitary league loss of the year, a 5-0 shutout at the hands of Bonney Lake, when they faced the league-leading Panthers Tuesday; results of that contest came too late to report here but will be available at www.courierherald.com. Enumclaw trades hits with Sumner at 7 tonight, Wednesday, on the Enumclaw High diamond.
