Its Allabout Jerry gained the lead into the stretch and out-finished Senna for a neck victory in the $21,500 Print NW Purse for 3-year-olds Saturday at Emerald Downs.

Under a rail-skimming ride by Leonel Camacho-Flores, Its Allabout Jerry ran one mile in 1:37.01 and paid $20, $7.20 and $5.40. Rigoberto Velasquez is the trainer for owner Rancho Viejo and Jerry Carmody.

Senna, far back early, challenged the winner the length of the lane, but came up a neck short at the wire. Ridden by Francisco Duran, the runner-up paid $4.40 and $3.40.

Fire the Trainer, ridden by Leslie Mawing, finished third and paid $5.20.

Awesome Indian, Hoodslide, Courage of Faith, John’s Not Bluffin and Betsy’s Gold completed the order of finish.

The 6-to-5 favorite ridden by Rocco Bowen, Awesome Indian dueled with Betsy’s Gold through fractions of :23.03 and :45.93, opened a short lead on the last turn, but drifted out into the stretch, allowing Its Allabout Jerry an opening on the rail.

An Oregon-bred by Grindstone-Icicle Angel, Its Allabout Jerry is 2-3-2 in 10 lifetime starts with earnings of $30,003, including $11,825 for Saturday’s win. The gelding is 2-2-1 in five starts this year with earnings of $25,470.

Howie Gibson and Jeff and Teresa Lynd claimed the 6-year-old Lemon Drop Kid gelding for $2,500 on May 9, and subsequent wins have been for $5,000, $8,000 and $15,000. . .Rocky’s Quest unseated Juan Gutierrez at the break in race six and later banged into the rail near the sixteenth pole, creating a large dent that required nearly 30 minutes worth of repairs. Rocky’s Quest and Gutierrez escaped the incident with only superficial scrapes and bruises, although Gutierrez was off his final two mounts Saturday. . .Spot of Salt ($17.20) rallied for his 17thcareer victory in race seven, a $25,000 claiming race for 3-yaer-olds and up at six furlongs. A resurgent 7-year-old California-bred gelding, Spot of Salt broke his maiden in his career debut October 2, 2010 at Hollywood Park, but later raced several times in lower claiming races at Los Alamitos, Elko, and Les Bois Park. . .Curly Girly ($9) prevailed over 8-to-5 favorite Sabrina in the $21,500 sub-feature for allowance/optional claiming fillies and mares. A 5-year-old California-bred owned by K & W Stable and trained by Larry Ross, Curly Girly ran 6 ½ furlongs in 1:15.95. . . Warlock Stables co-owned and bred the top two finishers in Saturday’s first race—Another Winter ($6.40) scoring a gate-to-wire victory under apprentice Osvaldo Gonzalez and Live Like Mike rallying for second place. Both are 3-year-old Demon Warlock fillies. . .Washington-bred Spin Forty($23.20) notched his third win of the year in Southern California, rallying from dead last for a three-quarter-length victory in Saturday’s fourth race at Del Mar, a $50,000 claimer for 3-year-olds at seven furlongs. By Hard Spun-Sweet Fourty, Spin Forty has clicked at odds of 6-1, 9-2 and 10-1, earning over $70,000 in purses for Gordy Jarnig, Rodney Orr and partners. The bay gelding is a total Washington production, with trainer Mark Glatt and regular rider Tyler Baze also natives of the Evergreen State. . .Live racing continues Sunday with the $50,000 Angie C Stakes for 2-year-old fillies at six furlongs.
