Cisneros signs with CWU
February 9, 2009 · Updated 9:23 PM
Sumner High tight end Grant Cisneros signed a national letter of intent to play football at Central Washington University in Ellensburg.
He signed Feb. 3, the first day seniors could sign with colleges.
Cisneros, a 6-foot-5, 270-pound Sumner High senior, was named to the Class 3A all-state football team as an offensive lineman. He also earned first-team South Puget Sound League 3A honors as an offensive and defensive lineman.
Cisneros had orally committed to the University of Washington after former coach Tyrone Willingham had announced he wouldn’t be returning and before Steve Sarkisian was hired. That didn’t pan out and, aside from Central Washington, Cisneros attracted interest from the University of Idaho, Eastern Washington and Portland State.
