Ognoskie qualifies for regional tournament

Sophomore Kassandra Ognoskie will represent Sumner High at Saturday’s girls regional wrestling tournament at Emerald Ridge in Puyallup.

Ognoskie earned her spot at the regional tournament with a second-place finish Saturday at the subregional tournament at Auburn Mountainview, where she suffered a 54-second pin to Peninsula’s Jessica Chapman in the 125-pound title bout.

The top six wrestlers at Saturday’s tournament advance to Mat Classic, the state tournament Feb. 20 and 21 in the Tacoma Dome.
