Saturday, Bonney Lake lost to its Enumclaw High visitors as the Hornets had 11 hits in an 11-5 win. The game was originally scheduled April 14, but was postponed because of rain.

The Hornets started with a four-run first inning and added two more runs in the second for a 6-0 lead.

The Panthers answered with four runs in the bottom of the second to cut the margin, but Enumclaw added another run in the third and three more in the fifth before scoring their final run in the sixth.

Bonney Lake had scored again in the fourth.

Kyle Yanusevich led the Panthers with a homer and a single with a pair of RBIs.

Kirk Grams took the loss on the mound for Bonney Lake.

The loss dropped the Panthers’ record to 5-5 overall.

The Panthers’ bats were hot as they hammered Peninsula 13-3 in SPSL 3A play April 15 at Purdy. The game was called after five innings.

Dylan Brown was productive on the mound and at the plate. The senior left-hander tossed a five-hitter to pick up the win and was a perfect 3-for-3 with a pair of homers and four RBIs.

Bonney Lake took a 2-0 lead in the first inning, exploded for seven runs in the second, added another run in the third and three more in the fourth.

The Panthers took advantage of five Seahawk errors.

Bonney Lake will host Lakes today, Wednesday, and travel to Franklin Pierce Tuesday for a key SPSL matchup.
