Softballers drop to 2-2 record after home loss to Enumclaw | Bonney Lake Fastpitch

Panther coach Andrew Sage said the pair of league losses so early in the year may have put Bonney Lake in a tough spot, but he’s confident his girls can rally.

When Enumclaw High’s fastpitch crew terminated a long-standing jinx it has suffered against a Plateau league nemesis, it didn’t mess around.

Enumclaw not only won 8-2 at Bonney Lake High March 28, but did so despite issuing the Panthers 10 walks and 10 hits, winning on the Panthers’ diamond for the first time in several years.

BLHS slipped to 2-2 in SPSL 3A play and 4-3 overall.

The Panther fastballers, who finished fourth in the state in 2011, have shown glimpses of how well they can play. The day before losing to Enumclaw, they had traveled to Auburn Mountainview and won 11-5.

In that lopsided encounter, two-time All-SPSL 3A junior second baseman Kali Patterson collected a trio of doubles and senior pitcher Rendi Johnson clobbered a home run to help her cause.
