Spartans outlast White River 73-71 | Sumner Boys Track and Field

Spartans took first place in the 800-meter dash, 1600 dash, 4-by-100 relay, javelin, pole vault, long jump and triple jump.

Sumner High’s boys track and field team defeated the White River Hornets 73-71 Thursday at home.

Spartans took first place in the 800-meter dash, 1600 dash, 4-by-100 relay, javelin, pole vault, long jump and triple jump.

Freshman Nate Weber beat the 800 dash in 2 minutes, 9.96 seconds. Weber won the 1600 dash in 4:33.49.

The 4-by-100 relay team of Phillip Lewis, Brandon Tuilaepa, Triston Wedington and Erin Soltesz won in 46.63 seconds.

Junior Montana Gailas threw the javelin 159 feet, 3 inches.

Senior Jeremy Jackson jumped the pole vault in 13 feet.

Senior Soltesz propelled himself forward 19 feet in the long jump. Soltesz went 36 feet, 9 inches on the triple jump.
