Sumner High School's wrestling team hosted a four-team double dual meet Thursday, with the Enumclaw Hornets, Kentlake Conquerors and Kentridge Chargers. The Spartans finished with a win and a loss in its matches against the Chargers and Conquerors.

Sumner High School’s wrestling team hosted a four-team double dual meet Thursday, with the Enumclaw Hornets, Kentlake Conquerors and Kentridge Chargers. The Spartans finished with a win and a loss in its matches against the Chargers and Conquerors.

The Chargers matchup ended 51-25 in the Spartans’ favor.

Pins were made by Travis Filleau wrestling in the 120-pound weight class, Josiah Schliesman at 132 pounds, Wyatt James at 138 pounds, Jeremy Jackson at 145 pounds, and Zach Summers at 220 pounds. Schliesman had the fastest pin at 1 minute, 36 seconds.

Jed Schliesman, AJ Atoigue, and Zach Wooding all won matches by forfeit.

The Conquerors matchup ended in a 49-11 Spartan loss.

Tucker Wooding, wrestling at 113 pounds, pinned Conqueror P. Rhoni Lyons in 13 seconds. Atoigue wrestled the Conquerors’ Joey Alonzo to a 19-4 win by technical fall.

The Spartans’ next scheduled meet is an away dual against Fife on the evening of Jan. 10.
