Sumner's girls basketball had a busy and mostly victorious week, winning three out of four games against Steilacoom, Bonney Lake, Fife and Enumclaw.

Sumner’s girls basketball  had a busy and mostly victorious week, winning three out of four games against Steilacoom, Bonney Lake, Fife and Enumclaw.

The Spartans fared better than their male counterparts Tuesday night, defeating the Steilacoom Sentinels 56-19 in a conference game.

Wednesday, they played a crosstown rivalry match against the Bonney Lake Panthers, winning 49-42 in nonconference play.

Friday, they defeated the Fife Lancers 45-21 in conference.

The Spartans closed out the week with a Saturday nonconference game against the Enumclaw Hornets, which they lost 40-30.

So far the team’s losses have all fallen on nonconference games, leaving them with a pristine 4-0 record in South Puget Sound League 2A.

The Spartans played Clover Park at Sumner High School Tuesday. Results came after press time, but can be found online.
