Fugate Ford offers test drive fundraiser for White River

Enumclaw’s Fugate Ford will participate Saturday in a fundraising event aimed at helping the White River High sports programs.

The popular “Drive One 4 UR School” benefit will take place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Buckley Eagles.

For each person taking a five-minute test drive in a new Ford, $20 will be donated to the school.

Participants must be at least 18 years old and the promotion is limited to one driver per household.

Junior Hornet fourth-grade breaks in field with victory

The fourth-grade Junior Hornets posted a 46-0 win in the team’s first game on the new turf at Pete’s Pool Saturday.

On the first defensive play of the game, Hornet Layne Boies stripped the ball and scampered 40 yards for a touchdown.

Tommy Baxter, Jackson McCann , Aidan Carroll  and Cash Jonas also scored TDs. Drew Krehblel showed no signs of pressure kicking the extra points.

Logan Allen, Ryan Pedreira, Colton Nelson, Wyatt Ward, Cash Jonas and Blaine Kapule dominated the offensive line.

The fifth-grade team lost a filler game to Rainier Beach.

The sixth-grade team ran up a 30-0 lead over Gig Harbor at the half and went on to win 36-6.

Mason Fend and Kione Gill scored two TDs each. Bear Kuro added another. Colton Clark sacked the QB twice.

The seventh-grade team lost.

Behind six quarterback sacks, the eighth-grade team topped Puyallup 30-0.

Offensively, Connor Pierce had two TDs. Tyler Harris and Jordon Misensol each added another.

The Hornets face the Northeast Tacoma Tigers Saturday.

Lockhart scores three TDs in Wolverine Bantam victory

Mitchell Lockhart scored three touchdowns as the Enumclaw Wolverine Bantams defeated the Benson Bruins 20-13 on the new turf at Pete’s Pool Sunday.

Alex Armstrong and Ryan Redford posted the points after touchdown.

The Wolverine 89ers battled through double overtime and still ended in a 0-0 tie.

The Sweet Peas fell to the Bruins despite a touchdown by Jesse Gregg and the point after by Jaeger Ward.
