The Sumner baseball squad won two of three South Puget Sound League 3A games, building at 8-5 league mark with three contests remaining.

The Sparts began April 19 at Lakes, claiming a bonus frame 5-2 triumph.

Evan Carl, Alex Sloan and Cameron Steffey all went 2 for 4 at the dish and Steffey earned his fourth pitching victory of the campaign, blanking Lakes in the last three innings.

April 20, SHS hosted winless Clover Park, shutting out the Warriors 7-0.

Then it was on to Auburn Mountainview April 21, where the Spartans’ sticks fell silent and they mustered an anemic two hits during a 3-1 loss.
