Sumner beat Shelton 51-14 Friday at Sunset Chev Stadium.

The next game for the Spartans is at Enumclaw 7 p.m. Friday in the first South Puget Sound League 3A test of the season.

Enumclaw lost to Eastside Catholic 44-0 Friday and beat White River in its first game.

Sumner coach Keith Ross played high school football in Enumclaw for the Hornets’ coach Mark Gunderson’s father. Ross went on to play for Central.
