The Sumner boys and girls cross country teams competed at the West Central District meet Saturday at American Lake in Lakewood and the next stop is the state meet in Eastern Washington.

The girls team advanced to the this weekend’s state meet in the Tri-Cities finishing fifth out of 11 teams with a score of 117.

The top runner for the girls was Abi Hensler, running eighth with a time of 20 minutes, 44.65 seconds.
