Cody Haavik rushed for three touchdowns, from 6, 16 and 1 yard out, and Tyler Salisbury added two more, including a 66-yard scamper, to lead the Sumner Spartans to a 42-3 season-opening, nonleague win over Class 3A Auburn Mountainview Thursday night in Auburn.

Sumner, Class 2A this season, posted the first touchdown of the game and Mychal Hooser closed the door in the fourth quarter with a 17-yard run. Cody Brennan was good on four of four extra-point attempts.
