The Plateau Baseball Club has completed its regular season and entered tournament play.

Information was not available from tournament games of last weekend, but the following is a summary of late-season contests.

July 16: The Plateau club exploded for eight runs in the first inning and went on to defeat the Northwest Timber Jacks 11-4.

The game was played at White River High School.

Cody Cloud, Dustin France and Nevan Leckman hat two hits apiece for the winners. Cloud scored three times and knocked in a pair, while France scored twice and had one RBI. Leckman drove in three runs and scored once.

Willy Vaughn started the game and pitched five innings, getting the victory. Drew Seabrands went two innings in relief.

July 15: The Plateau crew plated a run in the bottom of the 10th inning to slip past Centralia 3-2.

The contest was staged at White River High.

The game was scoreless for three innings, but the visitors managed single runs in the fourth and fifth frames to take the lead. The Plateau squad added solo tallies in the sixth and seventh to send the affair into extra innings.

Ryan Kolisch went nine innings on the mound, scattering six hits while striking out 11 and walking just one batter. France earned the win by shutting down three Centralia hitters on just 10 pitches in the 10th innings.

The Plateau club’s three runs were scored by Cloud, Nick Whitmore and Andrew Littman. Kolisch had three hits and joined Cloud and France with RBIs.

July 13: The Plateau team traveled to Rochester High School July 13 where they found no luck at all, dropping both ends of a doubleheader to Centralia.

The opening game was the Plateau crew whitewashed 9-0, going down to defeat in no-hit style. The nightcap was closer, as the Plateau boys scored twice in the sixth inning to tie the contest at 5-5. Centralia added three runs in the bottom half of that frame, however, to account for the final 8-5 margin. In Game 2, Kolisch led the way with two hits and three RBI. Cloud had a double, knocked in a run and scored three times. Cooper Wicks walked three times, stole a base and scored a run.

Through the game of the 16th, the Plateau team was paced by Kolisch and his .355 batting average. He led the team with 27 hits and 12 RBI. France was just a step behind at .351 and Austin Hill sat at .323. Cloud was No. 2 in hits with 21 and was the runaway leader in runs scored with 24.

Kolisch was the workhorse on the mound, starting 10 games, going the distance six times while compiling a 6-2 record. He allowed just nine earned runs in 77 innings, adding up to a miniscule ERA of .82.
