Garrett Bond tossed a five-inning perfect game March 16 as the host Hornets put a 10-0 whitewashing on the Class 3A Lancers.

The key to Bond’s success was keeping the ball safely in play and letting the White River defense play error-free ball; he struck out just a pair of Lakes hitters.

The contest was stopped at five innings due to the 10-run rule.
