WRHS TENNIS: Despite loss, Hornets ahead

The White River Hornets dropped a 3-2 match to Washington Friday, but maintained a winning league record of 4-3.

The Hornets earned their wins in doubles with Jason Tyler and Justin Gaull winning 6-2, 6-2 and Sam Bruckbauer and Tommy McCarragher teaming for a 6-0, 6-3 victory.

On Sept. 22, the Hornets edged Eatonville 3-2.

Tanner Williams won 6-4, 6-2. In doubles, Bruckbauer and McCarragher earned a 6-3, 6-4 victory. Drew Maras and Noah Geehan also picked up a win by taking the first and third sets 6-1 and 6-4.

The Hornets suffered a 3-2 loss to Fife Sept. 21, with its pair of victories coming in doubles. Williams and Josh Mills won 6-4, 6-2 and Bruckbauer and McCarragher won 6-3, 6-2.
