Thank You

Sumner Arts Festival Committee wants to say thanks!
We again have many thank you notes we need to give out.
First, we want to thank all the businesses that were part of the festival or were impacted by the festival.
Closing the roads during the festival is a safety issue that needs to be done, but it impacts some of our local businesses that are keeping our downtown prosperous.
So please remember to support our local businesses next time you shop and remember to thank them for their support and working with the festival to allow it to be successful for all of us.
We want to thank the city of Sumner for all of their help and support. Although the city is not an official sponsor of the festival, we could not do the festival without their support and help throughout the year and especially during the festival.
To our community’s nonprofit food vendors, again, we could not do this great event without you. Your variety and exceptional quality of food is extraordinary for this size festival.
Few other festivals have this type of community support among its local non-profit organizations. This is very very important to all of us.
To our local Eastern Star and Mason organizations, and especially Garry Gerking, we praise you for keeping our festival clean. You are the unsung heroes of our festival.
There were many, many compliments and praises from visitors and venders alike on how clean the festival is; we can’t thank you enough for this.
We would also like to thank our own volunteers of our organization; Kim, our festival chairman, commits herself and her family to whatever needs to be done during the festival.
Her determination to oversee all the details, big and small, which need to be done to create a successful festival, are a quality that is hard to find.
Amy did another exceptional job with our expanded kids’ area, an area which will continue to grow under Amy’s leadership. Lori, our food vendor chairman, continues to keep a varied food menu that is safe for all to eat.
Dena has the immense responsibility and commitment of time to find and recruit the very best artists from this state and well beyond it for our festival. Mary, our very own entertainment specialist, has brought the festival another exceptional lineup of entertainers.
Glenda, Amanda and Denise stepped in and helped in any way they could, from helping setting up to giving directions to visitors.
Stuart has found the right combination of advertisement to reach the entire south Puget Sound area plus he added Seattle this year to this list.
Many thanks are needed for our very own Bonney Lake/Sumner Courier-Herald newspaper that did another exceptional informational pamphlet for our festival this year. We especially want to thank all those that advertised in this pamphlet, since they made it a reality.
This is our community’s festival. It’s you or your neighbor who work to prepare the food, it’s you or your neighbor who cleans up after you or the one that keeps you safe while you enjoy your event, or will care for you if you become sick, so the next time you see your neighbor, say “thanks”; we have something very special in Sumner.
Sumner Arts Festival Committee, see you next year.
