Sunset on Sumner | Sumner Mayor Update

Sometimes, you see your home in a whole new light when you see it through someone else's eyes. The August issue of Sunset Magazine describes a Perfect Day in Sumner. And, boy, do we look beautiful! With its feature of local businesses, its beautiful pictures of pie and Sumner Link Trail, and its "insider" quotes from Ryan Windish and Lana Hoover, it's a great look of Sumner "from the outside."

Sometimes, you see your home in a whole new light when you see it through someone else’s eyes.  The August issue of Sunset Magazine describes a Perfect Day in Sumner.  And, boy, do we look beautiful!  With its feature of local businesses, its beautiful pictures of pie and Sumner Link Trail, and its “insider” quotes from Ryan Windish and Lana Hoover, it’s a great look of Sumner “from the outside.”

So, why let the secret out to all thoseSunset readers in the Pacific Northwest?  That’s a lot of potential new customers for our favorite Sumner restaurants and stores.  The Northwest edition (which features Sumner) has a print run of 270,000 copies.  There are 1.1 million unique viewers on digital and mobile editions.  These are all people who are interested in finding new places in the Northwest to eat, shop and enjoy, which means new customers and business wellness for existing businesses, and healthy customer base for Sumner in general, which keeps Main Street alive with new businesses investing in our community.  At Sunset’s ad rates, an advertisement like this would cost us over $100,000.  Since people tend to act more on editorial than advertising, the value is likely much more than that.  And it didn’t cost us a thing!

After all these facts and figures, let’s not forget that it’s just simply fun to see our beautiful town highlighted so well.  After all, we always knew we were looking good, but having Sunset say that “this little farm town is as all-American as rhubarb pie” just puts a smile on your face!
