Bonney Lake Police accepting giving tree donations

The Bonney Lake Police Department's annual giving tree program is under way at the Public Safety Building in Bonney Lake.

The Bonney Lake Police Department’s annual giving tree program is under way at the Public Safety Building in Bonney Lake.

The program supports area children.

Donations of toys can be dropped off between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday at the Public Safety Building, 18421 Sumner-Buckley Hwy.

The Giving Tree quilt is also back, which allows residents to pick the tag of a specific child and purchase gifts from his or her wishlist, printed on the back of the card.

Residents are asked to donate early to allow for processing and delivery.

The city of Bonney Lake is also hosting its annual food drive through Dec. 9. Food items may be dropped off in the Public Safety Building.

Collection sites are also set up at Key Bank, Grocery Outlet, Rainier Mortgage and Applebee’s.

All items are donated to the Bonney Lake Food Bank, the Bread of Life Food Bank and the Bonney Lake Senior Center.
