Seasonal fun can be found at a pair of local Plateau farms.
Maris Farms, at 24713 Sumner-Buckley Highway, truly offers something for every member of the family – from a peaceful stroll to pick out a perfect pumpkin to the nighttime Haunted Woods that isn’t recommended for the younger set.
This year, the family provides an Amazeing Knights corn maze. New attractions include a pedal cart track for kids and adults, new slides in the kids’ courtyard, more concessions, The Mausoleum and Closterfobia Room. Also new is a “pumpkin only” entry fee. Popular attractions back for another year include the pig races (a benefit for St. Jude Children’s Hospital), monster truck rides, 60-foot tube slides and a huge jumping pillow.
Maris Farms will operate through Sunday and is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday for daytime activities. Nighttime activities like the Haunted Woods and flashlight corn maze normally begin at 7 p.m. and to until 10 or 11 p.m., depending upon the time of the season.

Farm Fresh Produce can be found at 24015 state Route 410, just east of 234th.
This year’s corn maze features a “Cat in the Hat” theme and again has activities for guests to tackle along the way. Also back for another year are a family-friendly haunted house, Vortex, hay rides, jump house and monster truck rides.
For the second year, Farm Fresh is offering Haunt Xtreme, a haunted house that bumps up the scare factor a few notches and is designed for older kids.
New this year if a fun barn with carnival games for children and assorted barnyard animals, some in cages and others for petting.
Farm Fresh Produce is open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday, although some activities aren’t available until 3 on weekday afternoons.
