Enthusiasts gravitating toward the new CrossFit Enumclaw Gym at 1713 Garrett St. in Enumclaw, are working toward a healthier lifestyle.

Bob Bailie, along with John Clary and his wife Brigit, opened the doors Feb. 1 and are welcoming clients from 5 a.m. to 10 a.m. Monday through Friday.

“There is really nothing out there right now that compares to this form of exercise,” Clary said. “If you plan on joining, you can leave your ego at the door, because nobody here is interested in watching you pose in front of a mirror or whether you can lift way more than they can.”

Offering personal testament, Clary said he is in the best shape of his life.

“Any of the exercises we do here are scalable,” Clary added. “There is a huge variety of people who come in here from ages 15 to 65 years old and in all degrees of fitness, shapes and sizes.”

He said the CrossFit regimen is directed toward improving one’s mobility and flexibility, and everyone achieves their goals at their own speed.

Through the anaerobic exercises done there, participants leave with a feeling of exhilaration and feeling more like a well-rounded athlete, Clary said, even if they started simply trying to recover from an injury.

Early on, the majority of CrossFit Enumclaw clients are public servants. They, along with members of the military, make up a large portion of the clientele. Clary recognizes this fact by having flags from the Army, Navy, Air Force and Marines displayed prominently, along with blue and red banners representing policemen and firefighters.
