Business owners in Washington have many responsibilities, including knowing which taxes they must report. To help reach more businesses statewide, the Washington State Department of Revenue (DOR) will host a free live webinar from 10 to 11 a.m., March 12, for small business owners.

This is the first time Revenue has done a business outreach session online. DOR plans to further leverage the internet to make it easier for businesses by hosting several of these sessions online this year.

“We’ve offered in-person workshops for a number of years, and offering online webinars will make it easier for small businesses to fit a workshop into their busy schedules,” DOR Director Carol K. Nelson said.

To register, please visit the DOR online registration website and provide the following:

  • Your name
  • Company name
  • Phone number
  • Email address

Space is limited, and the deadline to register is Friday, Feb. 28.

Participants will learn about Washington excise taxes, reporting classifications, deductions, sales tax collection and record-keeping requirements. The webinar facilitator will answer specific questions related to your business at the end of the webinar.

The DOR website offers a complete schedule of in-person business workshops held around the state and short video versions of the workshops.
