Skynet moving, adding features

One of Enumclaw’s most visible storefronts will not stay vacant for long. The demise of the local Radio Shack operation left a void at the corner of Cole Street and Initial Avenue, but that only proved to be an opportunity for Chuck Bender and his Skynet Broadband business.

The demise of the local Radio Shack operation left a void at the corner of Cole Street and Initial Avenue, but that only proved to be an opportunity for Chuck Bender and his Skynet Broadband business.

A moving date has not been determined, but Bender will pack up and make the short journey from his present location at 1717 Cole St.

It is much more than just a change of address, however.

With the larger quarters, Bender will break his current operation into two independent businesses. Continuing under the Skynet brand will be the Internet provider used by many in the area. But occupying the front of the building will be Xpert PC+, which will handle the computer sales and repair end of the existing business.

Additionally, with the move, Bender is expanding his offerings and branching in new directions. He purchased much of the Radio Shack inventory and hopes to occupy the retail niche long held by the national chain store. Coming soon to the sales floor will be land-line telephones, home audio systems and a limited offering of televisions.
