Citizens need to strive for information

Barbara Andrew’s letter to the editor (9/30/09)was a childish and insulting attempt to demonize those who disagree with what Congress has chosen to divulge to us about their ideas for health care reform.

Ms. Andrews can choose to simply base her opinions on what she hears President Obama say or dig deeper and investigate the reality of what the Democrat-sponsored health care bills will and will not do and provide.

To me, hearing and believing are not the same.Americans have rightly objected to many of the proposals in the various Democrat-written health care bills and have a right to understand the costs and consequences of each of them. Informed citizens should be what we strive for. One doesn’t need to be able to hear or hear well to educate oneself about the important issues facing us today.
