City Council doesn’t get all information

Array

My fellow citizens: Nancy Wieland does understand the dynamics of our city government (Letter to the Editor, Sept. 30).

Council is “spoon fed” information. Therefore, council is forced to make decisions based on a false reality. Knowledge is power and right now administration has all of the power due to the way they filter information. As a former council member I was able to dig and find out some of the information not being brought to council. This wasted a lot of my time. You can compare this situation to ENRON, WorldCom, TYCO, etc. A few people at the top keep information to themselves and the rest of us suffer the consequences. We do not currently have a democracy in our town. When the mayor and administration do not bring all the information to the table to discuss, then everyone suffers.
