Dems’ troubles stem from following policies of last administration

The recent letter from Tim Personius brought to mind the apocryphal gem about a publisher’s note rejecting a short story. The note read: “Your story is interesting and original. Unfortunately, the parts that are interesting are not original and the parts that are original are not interesting.”

Unfortunately in the case of this letter we are seeing nothing more than a banal recitation of recent Republican and Fox News attacks. It’s sad that the writer has so little respect for his fellow Americans. Perhaps they are not as dumb as he thinks and they did in fact vote for exactly what they wanted. The problem is, too much of what the Democrats have done is continue too many of the policies from the last administration. Most of the support Obama has lost has come from those who think he has done too little that he promised, not too much. Attacking him by parroting Republican talking points adds no clarity or depth and brings only heat with no light. After all, describing honey as “bee spit” doesn’t make it taste less sweet, it just makes it sound less sweet.
