I first met Geoff Bowie when he testified at the Black Diamond Planning Commission’s Public Hearing regarding the Comprehensive Plan.
Geoff provided documents and maps that demonstrated that he knew the details of when the Ten Trails developer transferred the land for a Black Diamond school to be built in Ten Trails. Prior to this hearing, it was unclear that the school district purchased the property. Geoff also provided information regarding the city’s failure to secure a conservation easement for 50 acres of “in-city forest” that was a part of the developer open space requirements.
As I have had numerous conversations with Geoff regarding his candidacy for mayor, I have come to the conclusion that he does have the best interest for the city of Black Diamond at heart and will do to the best of his ability to be more transparent. Geoff has over 30 years of private experience in utilities construction management. With this knowledge, he will be able to better support city staff, assist in managing the budget, assuring that our tax dollars are being allocated to the correct city needs.
Geoff is someone who has demonstrated over his many years of service to the city of Black Diamond that he is qualified to lead the city forward in creating a more inclusive community for all its residents.
