To all the nay sayers who voted NO on the ESD maintenance bond, those who think they can do a better job managing the school district budget than the administrators in office; why don’t you make yourselves available to oversee that budget, to do all the repairs on buildings constructed in the 50s, repair the nonfunctioning boilers and leaking roofs?
Perhaps you are more qualified as it seems you know better, thinking there is enough money and that it is being mismanaged. You run a negative campaign, then sit by watching as buildings continue to disintegrate with our children and grandchildren suffering the consequences of your short-sightedness.
A first-grade classroom at Kibler caught fire last week. Why? Because it was cold, 40 degrees, and there was no heat. The teachers, PTA and loving parents have brought in space heaters so the kids can learn in a more comfortable environment. One of those space heaters caught fire. The principal, acting quickly, extinguished it. Perhaps he should have let it burn! That would have closed Kibler. Then what? What is it going to take? A roof collapsing on a classroom of children? Wake up Enumclaw and Black Diamond residents!
