After 36 years as a Career & Technology Education teacher and 30 years coaching Hornet golf and wrestling, I know that Enumclaw’s greatest strength is its commitment to our kids. My wife and I retired from the district in 2020, but we remain proud residents, and taxpayers in this community.
I understand the recent concerns regarding district leadership. However, the School Board has taken clear steps to move us forward. We must now ensure our students aren’t caught in the middle. These replacement levies are not new taxes; they are a renewal of the local funding that keeps our schools running and our property values stable.
In my current work advising a national foundation for the skilled trades, I see how vital local support is for career and technical education. These levies directly help support the CTE programs that prepare our students for high-demand careers. They also sustain the athletics and extracurriculars that teach the grit and teamwork I witnessed every day in our programs.
For the sake of Enumclaw School District’s students’ education, let’s put politics aside and focus on the practical. Voting Yes helps ensure our buildings are safe and our students stay competitive in the workforce. Please join me in supporting our schools and our community.
