I attended the fire commissioners meeting May 5.
It was my first time since before the debacle of an election last November.
The King County Fire District 28 levy failed, resulting in a budget shortfall. It is my opinion, the reason is the mismanagement of funds spent by the former commissioners of which one is Mr. Hannity.
I’m totally aghast at what this fire commission is doing. Asking for the fire chief’s resignation is a reflection upon the commissioners themselves
Great job, Enumclaw City Council and administration, in dealing with the serious mistake the past city council and or administration made not taking care of their business with Enumclaw’s gas company.
The recent town meeting and a subsequent letter to the editor have me wanting to share some thoughts on, among other things, fact and emotion.
The following is my response to Judi Puttman, Christopher Bock, DPM, Sam Cargill, MD, Daniel Clerc, MD, Brian Hiller, PA, Dennis Mauricio, MD, James Merrill, MD, Jeffrey Rose, MD, and Jude Verzosa, MD, for their rebuttal letter in the April 2 Courier-Herald regarding Councilman Darrell Dickson.
In last week’s “In Focus” column, Rich Elfers asks, what if the Indians came back today and asked for “just compensation” having sold the island of Manhattan to the Dutch for $24 worth of beads in 1626.
The letter on March from Mary Ballard, M.D., states that council member (Darrel) Dickson stepped out of his boundaries and that he had no business investigating anything without the permission of the mayor, the city council and the other council members. That is wrong.
Facts for thought…
In regard to the (Enumclaw) council meeting March 10, John Damazio didn’t take sides but suggested emotion be left out of the equation and only deal in cold, hard facts. I totally agree with him, so here are some facts.
We are writing in response to recent events regarding the Enumclaw City Council as reported in The Courier-Herald. We are also responding to Mary Ballard’s letter to the editor (March 26).

We would like to thank all of our wonderful friends and cousins that helped so much during the loss of our dad, father-in-law and grandpa.
Well, looks as if we will see a lot of Green Cross in and around our town of Enumclaw within a short time. For those who don’t understand or are scratching you head, the “Mary Jane” growers, harvesters and sellers will open shop.
