I love working in this community and have seen some very positive changes over the past two years effecting myself, my family, my team members and my community. I have great concern about the ramifications if Proposition No. 1 (fire levy increase for District 28) does not pass.
The ceremonial lighting of the community tree and lamp poles in purple, the handling of violence by pop culture, and the willingness of community members to reach out for others was displayed for all on Oct. 1 at the Domestic Violence Awareness Month presentation.
As a taxpayer. I have been interested in the debate going on. I have been reading the information regarding the spending. I have been paying attention to both sides.
On Sunday, Aug. 18, my world was unexpectedly turned upside down. That was the day my wife and three children and I were involved in a serious car accident.

For slightly more than $5 a month we can keep our local fire department staffed and protecting our community and our children with four firefighters on duty 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, 365 days per year.

The Citizens for Smart Taxes town hall meeting at the library was well-attended Wednesday night. I would like to thank everyone who attended.
As a local businessperson operating Buds and Blooms on the Enumclaw Plateau for the past 10 years and living here for the past 35 years, I am asking you to join me in voting “yes” on the proposed fire levy lid lift this fall. As a business owner, resident and volunteer firefighter in Fire District 28, I have a vested interest on several levels in seeing this levy lid lift pass.
Union firefighters and Fire District 28 management have been accusing Citizens for Smart Taxes of lying to the public about district mismanagement.
In reference to Rich Elfers’ column dated Aug. 5, 2013, “Union Seeking More Influence,” I was curious to see campaign financing for the various candidates for (Enumclaw) City Council.
I am interested in the King County Fire District 28 fire commissioner race and have questioned Ms. Stufflefield; I have asked her for proof regarding the issues she has stated. Ms. Stubblefield shared with me a recent report from the King County Appraiser’s Office, the Washington State Auditor’s Office and several other public documents she obtained from public records requests.
