This letter is in reply to Mr. Roach’s op-ed on health care (Courier-Herald, Sept. 2).

Does Mr. Roach think that there is a final bill already finished and signed by the president? If so, it’s news to me.

His editorial, I feel, is full of scare tactics and half truths. I wondered why a representative of the people would knowingly do this, then I decided to look up contributions to Mr. Roach and well what do you know, for the year of 2008 insurance and real estate corporations contributed $31,000 to his campaign. What we need is campaign reform to stop this type of influence of the people we elect to support us and not the insurance companies.
