Wise has done good job for eight years

We would like to thank Mayor John Wise and his election committee for running an honest, upstanding mayoral campaign.

We would like to thank Mayor John Wise and his election committee for running an honest, upstanding mayoral campaign. It’s not easy being an honest politician these days and it may have cost him a win in this heated election. But at least he and his wife, Linda, still have their integrity.

We are extremely disappointed in Liz Reynolds and her smear campaign, but can see that mud-slinging paid off this time. It’s sad that smearing Mayor Wise’s name was so successful because he certainly did not deserve to get voted out of office by someone who ran a less-than-honest campaign. She did a great job in swaying voters to her side by convincing the public that Mayor Wise is some sort of lying, deceitful monster, when in fact, she is the one that did not tell the entire story in all of her accusations against the mayor.

We believe that Mayor Wise has been a fine mayor the last eight years and has run this city with great integrity. He and Linda love Enumclaw and are huge supporters of our local businesses and of any event that is held on the Plateau. We hope that they will continue to feel welcomed to all future events in Enumclaw.

We also hope that the fine citizens of this community will show some regard for the mayor in the last few weeks of his term and that the City Council has some decency left to treat Mayor Wise with the respect he deserves.

Congratulations and good luck to you, Liz. We hope that in four years, if you decide to run for a second term, that your opponent does not put you through the same kind of mayoral race that you put Mayor Wise through.
