From the Independence Day Parade to the Scottish Highland Games, there seems to be an event every day on the Plateau in July

FREE CONCERTS AND KIDS EVENTS

Tunes by the Trail: The city of Buckley gearing up for on its summer concert and kids show program, which is hosted at the Buckley Youth Center lawn every Thursday from July 6 through Aug. 10. Kids shows like the Big Bubble Show, the slapstick Cap’n Arrr comedy, and Reptile Island start at 11 a.m., and free concerts with the Sh80’s, Kupono, and the ABBAgraphs start at 6:30 p.m. For a full list of shows, head to facebook.com/buckleyyac.

Concerts in the Park: The city of Enumclaw has expanded its annual Concerts in the Park events, bringing in live musicians like The Dueling Crooners, the Fabulous Murphtones, and Danny Vernon’s Illusion of Elvis to Rotary Park, Garret Park, and Holdener Park (Sun Top Farms) every Thursday between July 20 and Aug. 31, from 6 to 8 p.m. For a full schedule, head to facebook.com/EnumclawParks.

OTHER SUMMER EVENTS

Enumclaw Farmer’s Market: The annual Enumclaw Farmer’s Market returns for its Fifth year on First Avenue every Thursday from 3 to 7 p.m. from June 1 through September. For more information, head to enumclawplateaufarmersmarket.org.

Sundays on Cole: Enumclaw’s Cole Street will be shutting down on Sundays as local vendors, artists, musicians, nonprofits, farms, and more will set up shop along the city’s main drag from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. from July 9 through Aug. 27.

Cruise Enumclaw: The first Friday of every month through September is reserved for Cruise Enumclaw, which features an informal car parade on Cole Street and through downtown. It’s a free event, but spectators are encouraged to support local businesses and restaurants whole enjoying the city’s downtown atmosphere. Cars start rolling around 6 p.m.

Meet up on Main: From June through October, 10 a.m. to noon, the Buckley Downtown Association is hosting Meet Up on Main, which is a time for car enthusiasts who want to participate in the following week’s Cruise can get together and shoot the breeze.

Cruise Buckley: Buckley is getting in on the cruising action by hosting their own downtown cruises every third Saturday from May through October from 6 to 9 p.m.

SINGLE EVENTS

July 1

Patriot Days: The Enumclaw Business Collective is hosting Patriot Days on Cole Street on July 1 and 2. On July 1, there will be yard games, live music at the Casting Iron; on July 2, there will be pine car races and a chili cook off. There will also be various lawn game tournaments with prizes. To register, you must have a team of two. Registration is $10 per person.

Stars, Stripes, and Lights: Black Diamond’s Ten Trails neighborhood is hosting a Stars, Stripes, and Lights event on July 1, from noon to 10 p.m. The big draw of the event is the drone light show at 10 p.m., but there will also be several live musicians performing at Civic Park, plus other activities. July 4

Independence Day Parade: The annual Independence Day Parade, hosted by the Enumclaw Chamber of Commerce, will begin rolling down Cole Street at noon. Make sure to get a seat early!

July 8

End Alzheimer’s Raffle Rally: Heritage House in Buckley (28833 HWY 410 East) is hosting a Walk to End Alzheimer’s Raffle Rally on July 8 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Raffle items include patio furniture, home accessories, jewelry, Seahawk swag, and more.

July 13

King County Fair: The nation’s oldest county fair west of the Mississippi returns for its 160th year at the Enumclaw Expo Center from July 13 through 16, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Thursday through Saturday (and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m Sunday). There are too many activities and events to list here, so you’ll need to head to enumclawexpo.com/p/king-county-fair for all the information about the popular event and to buy tickets (and don’t forget that single-day parking costs $7).

July 15

Miners Day: Black Diamond celebrates its storied mining history on July 15, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., on Railroad Avenue. The free event will feature kids activities like face painting and donut eating contests, and other attractions like a dog and wagon parade. a 5K race, and a Keystone Cop skit. July 21

Enumclaw Street Fair: The Enumclaw Rotary Club is hosting its annual Street Fair on July 21 and 22 on Cole Street from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. The street will be lined with vendors, and there will be various food vendors and live musicians. There is also a 5K on Saturday, starting at 7:30 a.m. The race starts at the Enumclaw library parking lot; register at databarevents.com/enumclawrotarystreetfair5k.

The Scottish Highland Games: Whether or not you’re connected to the Highlands, make sure to head to the Enumclaw Expo Center for the annual Scottish Highland Games. The event kicks off on July 21 from 5:30 to 11 p.m. with a free-to-the-public piping competition, a Rising of the Clans and the Flaming Saltire, and a Cèilidh (party) at the Rampant Lion Pub. The Games continue on Saturday and Sunday with the international competitions beginning at 8 a.m. Various vendors and performers will also be setting up shop around the Expo Center. Ten Trails Safari Market: Black Diamond’s Ten Trails neighborhood is hosting a Safari Market on July 21 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Civic Park, featuring more than 40 vendors, food trucks, bouncy houses, an “Adventure Bar”, and more.

July 29

Splash Bash: Black Diamond’s Ten Trails neighborhood is hosting a Splash Bash on July 29 from noon to 4 p.m. at Civic Park. The event will feature numerous water-related activities like slip ‘n slides, a kiddie pool, and water balloons, plus vendors, food trucks, yard games, and more.

RECURRING EVENTS

Brewskis with a Newsie: Come meet your local journalists on every first Wednesday of each month at Cole Street Brewery (1627 Cole Street, Enumclaw) from 5 to 6 p.m. This is an informal event where residents can pitch stories, fact-check articles, and talk shop. WIBIT Night: The Enumclaw Aquatic Center hosts WIBIT Night every first Saturday of the month, and features large, inflatable pool obstacle courses. Call 360-815-1188 to reserve your spot. Tickets for reservations are $7.75 an hour; drop-ins are $9 an hour.
