Bonney Lake High School Drama Productions presents Gentlemen Prefer Blondes

The fine comedic timing of the actors, the 1920s costumes and classy sets will make this a fun-filled evening for audiences of all ages. Although not the musical, the play is lively, fast paced and romantic....and yes, there are blondes (some real and some not) in the show.

Bonney Lake High School Drama is putting on a production of “Gentlemen Prefer Blondes” next week.

The fine comedic timing of the actors, the 1920s costumes and classy sets will make this a fun-filled evening for audiences of all ages. Although not the musical, the play is lively, fast paced and romantic….and yes, there are blondes (some real and some not) in the show.

A refined girl “like I” is the way Lorelei describes herself. Lorelei, a dazzling blonde, and Dorothy, her sensible brunette friend, are planning to complete their educations by going to Europe for the summer. They’ll “improve their minds” all day, but in the evenings their main interest is in dates!

Gentlemen Prefer Blondes is a frivolous and witty show with memorable characters from fussy stewards to snooty social climbers and, of course, the handsome romantic male lead. Set in the 1920s, with clever satire, we can all enjoy the mishaps of these two young women who should be carefully chaperoned…but aren’t! This is the play by Anita Loos on which the later musical was based.
