Enumclaw Artist’s Studio Tour still seeking participants

The city of Enumclaw is still seeking artists for its May studio tour.

The city of Enumclaw is still seeking artists for its May studio tour.

This year’s Enumclaw Artist’s Studio Tour will take place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mother’s Day weekend, May 7 and 8.

Selected artists will open their studios to the public for sales, conversation and an occasional snack. The Arts Alive! Gallery will also be participating with hands-on artists demonstrating their skills.

Local artists are invited to send a request for an application to glaturner@ci.enumclaw.wa.us. Studio Tour artists will be available throughout the event to show and talk about their current artwork, process and where they get ideas.

Interested local artists will be expected to display at least 10 current works of art that are for sale; be open for the entire time set aside for the event, both days; be available for conversations with visitors; submit one digital image of work to be included in advertising materials; post provided signs to help advertise their studio locations; take care of their own tax collection and reporting; and pick up program signs from Arts Alive! Gallery by May 4.

Enumclaw Studio Tour visitors will begin their free tour by stopping in at Arts Alive! Gallery to pick up a map of participating artists’ studios. While there, they can talk to a number of local artists who will be creating artwork in the gallery.

Local artists interested in taking part in this program can address their questions to Gary LaTurner at 360-802-0239.
