Enumclaw local ordained, will preach in Omaha

Deacon CJ Fitzpatrick will perform a traditional Latin thanksgiving mass in June.

Deacon CJ Fitzpatrick, a member of the priestly fraternity of St. Peter, was ordained to the priesthood during a May 26 ceremony at St. Cecilia’s Cathedral in Omaha, Nebraska.

The son of David and Dede Fitzpatrick, he arrived in Enumclaw when he was 15, played basketball for Enumclaw High School and graduated in 2008 from EHS.

After being introduced to the Traditional Latin Mass in Ballard, Washington, he entered Our Lady of Guadalupe Seminary in Denton, Nebraska, in September 2011.

He will return to Enumclaw to offer a traditional Latin Mass of thanksgiving at 6 p.m. Wednesday, June 6, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

His first assignment will be at Immaculate Conception Church in Omaha.
