Income limits lifted for free tax filing service

United Way King County continues to offer its services on Thursdays and Saturdays through the tax due date.

There is no longer an income limit to file your taxes for free with United Way King County.

It was announced at the end of January that UWKC is coming to the Enumclaw library on Thursdays and Sundays, 1 to 5 p.m., to help people file their taxes for free.

The initial announcement noted that the nonprofit recommended income range, from up to $80,000 for individuals or $95,000 for those filing jointly. However, that income limit has been lifted, giving anyone the opportunity to file for free.

You don’t need to be a King County resident to file your taxes, so Buckley residents are free to come on down, but you have to be a Washington state citizen.

You’ll also need:

• Your spouse (if filing jointly)

• Photo ID

• Social Security Card or ITIN for each person on your return

• All income documents W-2’s, 1099, etc.; and

• Form 1095-A (if available)
