Blues artist Alice Stuart and her band, The Formerlys, will play Sumner’s Heritage Park tomorrow night as the Music Off Main concert series continues.

Stuart is a seasoned veteran of American rock and blues, a singer and guitarist whose touring career began in 1964. She played with the Mothers of Invention with Frank Zappa in 1966, then moved on to front her own band, Snake. For the time, she was the rare female lead of an otherwise all-male band. American blues writer and photographer Dick Waterman once hypothesized, “There would be no Bonnie Raitt without Alice Stuart.”

The free concert begins at 6:30 p.m. by the Heritage gazebo.
