Debt: $7,187

Cash: $834

We have ongoing operational expenses of approximately $1,100 per month. We can take credit card donations on our Web site, www.enumclawtutors.org.

Thank you to Calvary Presbyterian Church – a team of folks who spent several hours on their Faith In Action Sunday to thoroughly clean the Enumclaw center.

Due to a shortage of tutors and low student turnout during the 8 to 9 p.m. hour on Tuesdays and Thursdays, we have curtailed our hours for those evenings to 6 to 8 p.m. until further notice. We are currently in need of tutors on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. We ask for a commitment of two hours per week on either one of these nights from 7 to 9. If you are interested in helping us out with any of these needs, contact Walt Bennett at walt@villagetutors.org.

I have set up a meeting at the Enumclaw Tutoring Center at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, inviting a representative from each of the school PTA/PTOs to begin a dialogue around having those organizations take an active role in running the tutoring program. Anyone from the community interested in helping out with the program administration or tutoring is encouraged to attend. The tutoring center address is 1920 Division St.

As always, if you would like to drop in to visit YOUR tutoring center we would love to see you. Our hours are 6 to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday. We are closed on any days the local schools are closed.
