You can’t help people see God’s love if you’re grumbling | Church Corner

“Do everything without complaining or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure…”

Nothing is quite as contagious as complaining.

Once it starts, it’s hard to stop. This is why we get sick of social media sometimes. In itself it’s a neutral medium, but when we use it to vent we make a toxic soup that’s bad for the soul. God has a better way. He teaches us to bring our complaints to Him and Him alone.

The Bible says, “Do everything without complaining or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a crooked and depraved generation, in which you shine like stars in the universe as you hold out the word of life.” (Phil 2:14-15)

In other words, you can’t help people see God’s love if you’re grumbling. It’s one or the other, but never both. Lots of people give themselves permission to grumble, but Christ-followers aren’t among them. Your Father knows that you will be the first to benefit when you do stuff without complaining. “For whoever would love life and see good days must keep his tongue from evil.” (Psalm 34:12-13)

I’ll see you on Sunday. Be true!
