Over 300 lighted holiday displays will illuminate the grounds of Spanaway Park in Pierce County beginning Nov. 26 and running through Jan. 1, 2016. It’s the 21st annual Fantasy Lights drive-through display put on by Pierce County’s Parks and Recreation Services department.

Beginning at 5:30 p.m. each night, motorists can enjoy the magical world of animation and imagination where bears fly kites, Santa and Rudolf sail a tall ship, snow boys kick field goals, penguins slide down an igloo, and reindeer leap over your car. Guests can marvel at more LED lighting throughout the park along with this year’s new display, a giant dog wagging its tail. Participants can listen to FM 95.3 for a selection of special holiday music performed by a local high school to add to the festive atmosphere of the park.

Admission is charged per vehicle at the gate. The cost is $14 per vehicle (up to 24 passengers) and $45 for each bus with 25 or more passenger capacity. Discount coupons can be found throughout the community as well as on the Pierce County Parks website. Additionally, there will be half-price nights on Nov. 30, Dec. 1 and 2, and Dec. 7, 8 and 9 (coupons cannot be combined with half-price nights).

The Parks and Recreation department kicked off the season with the 20th annual Fantasy Lights Walk on Sunday, Nov. 22. The event had the largest turnout in its history with almost 7,000 participants. Spanaway Park is located at 14905 Bresemann Blvd. S. Tacoma, WA 98387.
