Amazon.com to open Sumner warehouse

Amazon.com, Inc. today announced plans to open an approximately 500,000-square-foot fulfillment center in Sumner, Washington. Amazon will create several hundred full-time jobs at the facility this year, in addition to hundreds of seasonal jobs during the holiday season. The facility will be operated by Amazon.com.dedc, LLC.

Amazon is currently recruiting candidates for jobs at the new facility. Candidates should be highly motivated with drive, ambition and a passion for giving customers a first-class shopping experience. Full-time hourly openings include roles in Picking, Packing and Receiving/Shipping. Management roles include positions in Operations, Safety, Human Resources and Technical Support.

“We’re hiring smart, friendly and dedicated people to join us in delivering a great experience for Amazon customers,” said Dave Clark, vice president, Amazon North America Operations. “We focus on working hard, having fun and making history as Earth’s most customer-centric company.”

“We couldn’t be more pleased,” said Sumner Mayor Dave Enslow. “Not only do people in Sumner and eastern Pierce County need jobs, but they need quality jobs close to home from good employers. Amazon fits that bill beautifully.”
